Chargers 2006 Season Record Prediction

Finishing 9-7 and missing the playoffs last year may have been a blessing in disguise for the Chargers. As a result of coming in third in the AFC West, San Diego received a much easier schedule than the Broncos or Chiefs. This will be a major factor in the Chargers reaching the playoffs with Philip Rivers at the helm. The team is loaded with talent, but it will be important that Rivers' mistakes will be contained as much as possible. What does this mean? Well, it means capitalizing on turnover opportunities and playing very good defense. It also means playing great special teams – the Chargers have potential pro-bowl kickers in Nate Kaeding and Mike Scifres and their numbers will be called often.

The Chargers play in the toughest division in football, with three playoff contending teams in it. A split between the Broncos and Chiefs would put them right at 2-2 and if they can sweep the Raiders, you are looking at 4-2 in the division.
