National City doesn't want a Chargers stadium on their waterfront, but they'll be happy to welcome an NBA team to the neighborhood.
Don't get me wrong, the NBA is great. But who exactly is going to show up for these games? You have an intense fan base in San Diego for the Chargers, but you would rather take the risk of trying to build fan support for some NBA expansion team? And what would this team be called, the San Diego Sand Crabs?
I mean, we have the Gulls, Surf Dogs, Pumitas, SeaLions, Sun Waves, Wildcats...did I forget anyone?
Lets try to find a home for our cool teams, like the Aztecs and Chargers, before we go around trying to start an NBA franchise.
