Chargers Claim Casey Bramlet off of waivers

The Chargers have made an interesting move the day before the draft, picking up a quarterback off of waivers from the Dolphins. What? that's exactly what I said. Bramlet's contract info is for one year for $445,000, he is 27 6'4 225. Bramlet was a 7th round pick from the Bengals in 2004 and since than was an NFL Europa star and played for both Redskins and Falcons last season.

At first this didn't make too much sense to me, but as i thought about it, this might confirm rumors that Charlie Whitehurst may be on the trading block. With who though, remains to be seen. Bramlet is a well known practice squad player and could end up being the third string quarterback behind Volek and Rivers if indeed Whitehurst gets traded or released.

What do you guys think of this move?
