Chris Chambers: 6 Catches, 4 Touchdowns

Emerging as a fantasy stud, Chris Chambers has proved to be a bona fide deep threat here in San Diego. Even though Chambers has only 6 catches through 3 games, he is averaging over 25 yards per catch and has found the endzone 4 times. There was a time when the Chargers lacked a true number one receiver, leaving the bulk of the receptions to fall upon the broad shoulders of tight end Antonio Gates. But with the acquisition of Chris Chambers last season and the chemistry he and Philip Rivers have developed, the Chargers have certainly found that deep threat they were looking for.

Chambers adds a dimension to the offense that opponents must study and prepare for. His range is deceptive, as is his top-end speed. Chambers can get behind the defense for the deep pass and has the reach and leaping ability to compete for jump balls. At 30 years old Chambers might only now be reaching his prime. He is on pace for a double digit touchdown total, a personal goal of his every year.

Note: Chris Chambers is with the San Diego Chargers for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In 2010, Chambers will be a free agent.
