Goodbye Brandon McKinney

I just realized that DT Brandon McKinney was released by the San Diego Chargers to make room for Stephen Cooper's return from suspension. Interestingly enough, recently acquired defensive tackle Ian Scott was not available for Sunday's home game against the Patriots. If Jamal Williams wasn't playing at Pro Bowl form right now, I'd be worried about the Chargers suspect depth along the D-line. Its still a nagging concern of mine and a big reason why I listed Defensive Tackle as one of the Chargers most pressing needs heading into the draft. But the Chargers seem to like what they have right now so we'll see how it goes.

Bad move, Mc Kinney had been playing very well when asked to, and Scott has been in and out football and his play after a good 1 season (super bowl season/lost to Indi) in chicago has not been the same

I think that the Chargers have made a lot of suspect moves the last couple of years. For a first round pick, Buster Davis is a bust. They should have traded Micheal Turner for a first round pick last year. They could have added a quality backup to LT instead of that dud Jacob Hester. Did you notice that he fumbled on his first possession vs. Patriots?
Also, they traded way too many picks for Eric Weddle. They could have added some very good backups with all the picks that they gave away.
How long is AJ Smith gonna take credit for Antonio Gates? That pick was years ago. He has had some below avg. drafts the last couple of years and it is showing up on the field now.

yeah i would have like to have seen chargers take alan branch over buster d. he fits their scheme, and could have been groomed as jamal's re-placement.
