Jamal Williams Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

In what is becoming a disturbing trend, another San Diego Chargers player is facing possible DUI charges. Last month Vincent Jackson was arrested after an officer noticed a swerving vehicle on the highway. And this past Sunday morning, Chargers defensive lineman Jamal Williams was arrested for suspicion of driving while drunk after being caught speeding.

Details on this incident are scarce. It has been reported that Williams was booked into San Diego County jail but was released on bail. It is unknown at this time exactly how fast Williams was driving and the results of his blood-alcohol level test are also unknown.

It certainly seems like Charger players are running into problems with the law all too frequently, but it should be mentioned that California, and San Diego especially, have made it a point of emphasis to catch drunk drivers and have dedicated increased focus towards this crime. It's sad to say but unfortunately this incident is almost commonplace for people in this state. I'm curious how many of you out there have been convicted of a DUI or know someone who has...

dirving while talking on your cell phone, or adjusting your radio, or reaching back to correct one of your kids, will cause you to swerve and get you pulled over on suspicion of a DUI...

these happen all the time, the only reason it's news is because it happened to a high profile player.

This is becoming a bigger and bigger problem recently with sports figures and celebrities drinking and driving. No one is above the law.
