AJ Smith Personally Attends UConn's Pro Day

Donald Brown
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock was at University of Connecticut’s pro day on Wednesday, where the Associated Press reports representatives from 21 teams, including Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Chargers GM A.J. Smith, were present for what was the team’s biggest pro day in school history.
AJ Smith could be interested in a number of intriguing players, including Running Back Donald Brown who is also scheduled to visit the Chargers in San Diego. Brown lead all running backs in the nation last year with over 2000 yards rushing. He is a physical back who figures be a workhorse in the NFL.

But Brown isn't the only top prospect at UConn. William Beatty is considered to be one of the top offensive tackles available this year. Athletic with great fit, Beatty looks to have what it takes to play left tackle in the pros.

Darius Butler is an outstanding athlete with excellent range as a cornerback prospect. Butler, depending on who you talk to, might be the third best corner prospect in the draft.

With three potential first round picks, the University of Connecticut's football team has certainly come a long way, and scouts like AJ Smith had plenty of top talent to evaluate at the school's pro day.

Does anyone know where in the draft Donald Brown is expected to go? Could this interest in him mean that A.J. is trying not to draft a running back with the #16 pick?

There's a range of opinions on Brown. Some think he is the #2 RB in the draft, others see him as the #4. I think Brown comes off the board somewhere in the late first (picks 20-32)

I say he will be in the very late 1st early second and the #3rb taken cause he has the fastest 40 time right now
