Chargers Schedule Private Workout With Knowshon Moreno

The San Diego Chargers have contacted first-round running back prospect Knowshon Moreno about coming in for a personal workout at Chargers Park on March 30th. Moreno, who says it'd be a pleasure to play for the Chargers, could potentially be the team's selection at 16 overall.

Fans should be cautioned not to read too much into this visit; the Chargers are likely doing their due diligence and already have a lot of cap space devoted to their two running backs Ladianian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles. Adding a first-round running back's contract to the mix might not be the most financially responsible move to make.

If he's the best player available they might take him and use it to trade down or I can see them using Sproles as a trade bait.

i agree. They need to pick him up and use him to get better trade positions.

Interesting point about the team using Sproles as trade bait. I like the idea if they can't sign him long-term. But one thing to remember is that Sproles was NFL's most prolific returner; his 1625 total punt and kick return yardage is tops in the league. The Chargers would be losing that special teams factor as well...
