Conflicting Reports Place Antonio Cromartie At Scene Of Crime

Reports are surfacing about an incident at Bar West in Pacific Beach (San Diego) involving either Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie or a member of Cromartie's entourage. Allegedly a bottle of champagne struck someone's head, causing an injury severe enough that police are investigating a possible assult case. According to Detective Gary Hassen of the San Diego Police Department, Cromartie claims the bottle "slipped out of his hand."

Antonio Cromartie's agent made the following statement to TMZ:

"This is absolutely not a story. Antonio didn't throw the bottle. There were actually three other players involved. Antonio is at a complex working out. Again, this is not a story."

Cromartie is an idiot on and off the field. He did have an INT against denver but that did not make up for his missed tackles and bad play throughout the season. Jammer is our #1 corner and Cason deserves more PT imho.

I'm so effin sick of this guy - stop resting on your laurels Cromartie, what have you done lately? All of your INTs this year were throw-away picks, and you still can't tackle worht a damn

The front office knew they had a couple of headcases in the locker room which is why they prepared themselves with life after Merriman and Cromartie. The Larry English and Cason picks are looking better and better each week. Good riddance dudes

I just heard that Cooper and Travis Johnson were also at that bar with Cromartie

alllllll of this is bullshit! A bunch of these arabic guys were in there trying to start shit with them and were just trying to start drama for no reason threatening to contact the media and saying this would end their careers or whatever. rediciouls man i can't believe some people, that guy deserved what he got he was asking for it.

Cro is not physical -- that is his clear weakness. Just wait though -- Cro is going to have some huge picks late this year / playoffs and all the haters will be back on the bandwagon.

Eyewitness - Your story sounds plausible because:

(1) Ain't it always those "Arabic guys" just "trying to start shit"?

(2) "They" were "Just" trying to "start drama for no reason" yet, oh-so unfairly "threatening to contact the media" to maliciously stain the otherwise pure reputations and names of Cromartie, Travis Johnson, etc..

(3) And at about this time, totally arbitrarily, a champagne bottle happens to "slip out of the hand" of Cromartie, take flight (?), and somehow (equally miraculously) strike said offending Arab hard.
Result: an eye injury.

(4) How absolutely "rediciouls" for anyone to merge these two totally random events; so, so very unfair! No doubt the bottle flew out of Cromartie's hand as he rushed to reach for his bible to counsel his new friends from the Middle East on the the slippery slope that is drink, unprotected sex, and runaway ego.

Good Call - Eye Witness!! Thank you for setting the record so straight and true. You are a good, dear friend of all men; and I'm sure the man with the eye injury (which he got because "he was asking for it") will surely come to understand that Cromartie was simply trying to fulfill his wish; not unlike signing a football for charity, or not wearing a condom. After all, one man can only do so much.

To: Anonymous at 11:24 on 11/23 - Okay, the regular season is entering it's 16th game, and "Crimetime" (i.e. Baby-daddy) Cromartie has 3 interceptions so far (a number he matched in 1 game in 2007) this year, which is just ONE more than the 2 from the 2008 season (which he claimed he played throughout with a "broken hip"). In 2009 he hasn't missed any games due to injury, has yet to claim any missing or broken body parts, and seemingly has avoided any and all undue risks via contact on the football field.
So The Obvious Question for our resident Tire Tosser and erstwhile Champagne Chucker; Is Cromartie *finally* going to kick it into high gear this last game and in the playoffs???
I hope so, of course, and I don't want to offend his oh-so-delicate sensibilities. I'm just sayin'..., is that bandwagon in place yet? Perhaps now would be a good time Cro. Show us something.
