The Chargers initiate a youth movement on their defensive line, however the national media doesn't seem so impressed. Also, LT is tired of being doubted and claims he'll win a Super Bowl with the Jets.

CHARGERS RELEASE IAN SCOTT, LOOK TO YOUNG PLAYERS TO FILL VOID
The San Diego Chargers released veteran defensive tackle Ian Scott last week, in a move that could signal the team is pleased with the progress of it's young defensive tackles Cam Thomas and Vaughn Martin. Also expected to be in the mix is Ryon Bingham who missed last season with a torn biceps.
Ian Scott never quiet panned out for the Bolts; he certainly had the size to anchor as a 3-4 nose tackle but lacked the upper body strength and didn't display much of a mean streak. He was brought in as someone who Ron Rivera had previous experience with in Chicago, but Scott turned out to be nothing more than a stop gap. It will be interesting to see how Cam Thomas and Vaughn Martin fit into the fix of an already crowded defensive line unit.
BOLTS' CURRENT D-LINE FAILING TO IMPRESS NATIONAL MEDIA
The Chargers find themselves near the bottom of Yahoo Sports' preseason defensive line rankings:
"28. San Diego Chargers: It was only two years ago that the Chargers had a 3-4 line featuring Pro Bowler Jamal Williams to go with rugged ends Igor Olshansky and Luis Castillo(notes). These days, only Castillo remains and that’s troubling. He’s decent, but hardly a guy you build around. The rest of the group includes Jacques Cesaire(notes), Ogemdi Nwagbuo(notes) and Ryon Bingham(notes). Not exactly fearsome."
