Chargers And Chiefs Impacted Early By Injury

The Chargers(1-1) face the Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) Sunday, who in the first two weeks have suffered devastating injuries to both sides of the ball. Eric Berry, arguably the NFL's best safety in his second year, along with rising super star running back Jamal Charles both have been lost for the year with ACL injuries. With all due respect to injured Charger's Nate Kaeding, Luis Castillo, and Malcolm Floyd; Winning without these players seems too tall a task for the undermanned Chiefs, who going into the year had optimism and talented youth pointing towards a repeat division title.

Let's recap. The best player on Kansas City's defense, and their best offensive weapon will both not be available. Matt Cassel will be expected to connect with Dwayne Bowe, and veteran Thomas Jones will attempt to revive a lifeless offense.

It is safe to say that the Charger's have a huge advantage on paper going into this game and is a game that the Chargers can't let get away. "Kick em' while they're down." With a win the Chargers will be no worse then tied for first going into week 4, a position not so familiar to the recent slow starting San Diego franchise.
