PASS RUSHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i like the selections so far. Defense is the chief reason the Chargers couldn't win games. their 3rd down defenses were horrible. and the QB's, on the teams the chargers need to beat in the post season, usually stay really clean, with enough time to make a smoothie and a sandwich, before throwing the ball.
The Chargers lost games on an average by 6 points or less. that translates they were unable to make a defensive stop, to win. Often late in the forth quarter. On the other side, the opposing offense's were able to run the ball, at will. late in the game. Why? lack of 3rd down stops. lack a of a pass rush (no hurry on QB's). with no disruption in the back field. usually meant other teams could execute a balanced attack the entire game.
Good defense force's it's opponents to abandon the run. get's off the field on 3rd downs, giving the offense, (PR and company have no problem scoring) more chances with the ball.
this can only change if you get "good" defensive players. what is a good defensive player? English, was evaluated with an injury history, post draft. he was a "reach" with the Chargers 18th pick overall.
The players on this list are not reaches. they are not "diamonds in the rough". they are not project players. they look like good football players that can help you win football games. This is what i was expecting from AJ, over the last four seasons. it's amazing how almost getting canned, can be a great motivator.
we don't need picks on QB's or RB.
Where are the 7th round picks????
