Kendall Reyes

With the 49th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers have selected Kendall Reyes, DT Connecticut.

SCOUTING REPORT:

From NFL.com:

Reyes is a big body inside with a decent skill set. He's a good option for a team that needs defensive line depth. Reyes is a powerful mover and a hard worker who should stick at the next level based on size and strength.

Analysis

Strengths
Reyes has a big frame and he uses it well. He has a strong lower body which provides him a good anchor when going up against double teams. He is savvy with his hands to keep offensive lineman off him. Reyes has a motor inside and relies more on his feet and technique to beat guys. Reyes will be a reliable player at the next level who consistently displays high effort and rarely gets completely blocked inside.

Weaknesses
Reyes is a good all-around prospect, but doesn't display any jaw-dropping skills that make him attractive at the next level. He plays a bit underweight, and this can show up at times when going against double teams. Reyes will have a tough time getting into the backfield to disrupt or rush the passer at the next level.

Definitely 2 for 2! Elite talent added to a defense in desperate need of it. Reyes has loads of upside and pairing him with Liuget will solidify the defensive front for years to come.

Where are games won? In the trenches of course! Good pic hopefully he's another Jamal Williams in the making...keep it going AJ! So far it's D-D we want D-D-D!

Couldn't agree more that the interior side could be good for years to come!

We just got Brandon Taylor! Nice job on the D-D-D AJ...I'm an admitted AJ hater but kudos!

melvin ingram is the key that is gonna open up the floodgates--garay-legit-martin-cam-phillips-brown- gamble-laboy-castillio will be driving towards the backfield all the time--forcing bad throws which will result in picks---which will result in quick strike which will result in WINNING

We should have taken that speedy little F-er James at RB from Oregon

JW played the NT position, Reyes will play the DE position, in the 3-4. We need Cam to become like JW.
