Kevin Haslam signed to Chargers active roster

The Chargers have signed tackle Kevin Haslam to a two-year contract. He has been a member of the Chargers’ practice squad since Sept. 5. Haslam fills the spot that came open when the Chargers placed Jared Gaither on “Reserve-Injured” on Friday.

Haslam, 6-5, 310 pounds is in his third year from Rutgers. He came to the NFL in 2010 as an undrafted rookie with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent two seasons in Jacksonville (2010-11), playing in five games as a rookie.

Haslam suffered a knee injury during training camp in 2011 and he spent the season on “Reserve-Injured.” He was waived by the Jaguars in March 2012 and signed with Oakland in May. He was waived at the end of training camp clearing the way for his signing with the Chargers.

Haslam will wear No. 70 for the Chargers.

Really? Last week he was a backup to a backup that wasn't very good, so AJ gives him a 2 year contract? Why not throw in a 10 mil signing bonus too? The moves this team keeps making are unbelievable. It's getting to the point we can't even say "there's always next year". I guess we can look forward to 2020. Go Boltz!!!

this could only mean, the chargers are moving on at Left Tackle. good. however the problem remains both harris and Haslam are both part of the same problem. Un-Drafted rookie free agents. haslam is has experience, so it's a possible upgrade over harris.

At this point of the season, who are you going to find? Last year we got lucky with Gaither. This year, we go unlucky with Gaither. Right now, there are no pro-bowlers being released. No starters being released. Only bodies that can take up space. Then again, the Rams released Danario Alexander. Sometimes you take a chance on a body ad you find a player!
