Quick Hits: Norv Turner on the Loss to Denver

The San Diego Chargers got defeated by the Denver Broncos 23-30 on Sunday. Head Coach Norv Turner returned to Chargers Park on Monday to addressee the media and in the process, did not provide the same answer as he normally does.
“Like I said after the game, going into to Denver and seeing them again, they’re probably the most complete team we’ve played. I think that they have outstanding team speed and athleticism. They have big-play players in all three phases that can make a difference in the game. I thought that there were a couple of different times during the game where we were going to have opportunities to get back in it and to get to a point where we could potentially tie it or take the lead, but we weren’t capable of doing that. Obviously we had the errors, the blocked punt, the sack-fumble and those things keep you from doing that.

Coach Turner, also was able to highlight the play of the younger players on the team. One of those players was Kendall Reyes on defense and his sacks.

We had some really strong contributions from the younger players. Kendall Reyes was outstanding and had two sacks. He’s a guy who continues to grow and he’s not a guy who’s gotten into that rookie wall that people talk about. I think that he’s getting better and better. (Marcus) Gilchrist had his best game as a Charger. He had impact plays and was consistent with big plays. Danario Alexander continues to make plays. I thought that Philip (Rivers) battled awfully well and I thought that he came back in the second half and made a bunch of plays. He got into a little bit of a rhythm and made plays and competed against the rush. It was a tough day. He got hit, he got banged around and he got harassed. But I thought that he battled through that and made big plays in the second half.”

I'm of this game Norv. you keep giving the same answers every week. because you think we're asking the same "stupid" questions. No. it's you going about your business, doing the same things, an expecting different results. that's stupid. you haven't changed anything. that's what you get the "same" questions.

Right on Arnie... doesn't it seem like every team we lose to, he points out how good they are! Right on Arnie... same story, different game.

Andrew... yes, if every Charger fan had a nickle for every time he said that, and every time he said "I thought we competed hard", we could pay for a new stadium!
