The Chargers have placed defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin and safety Brandon Taylor on the “Reserve-Injured” list and signed safety Sean Cattouse and cornerback Greg Gatson to the active roster from the team’s practice squad.
Franklin,
who started the eight of the first nine games, missed three of the
team’s last six games – including last Sunday’s game in New York against
the Jets – due to a knee injury.
Taylor
injured his knee in the game against the Jets. The team’s third-round
pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Taylor was inactive for the first 11 games
of the season. He played in the last four games and made his first
career start in New York last week.
The Chargers now list 17 players on their Reserve-Injured lists.
Cattouse
is a 6-2, 210-pound rookie from Cal-Berkeley who went to camp with the
Chargers in 2012. He was released in final cuts and was signed back to
the practice squad on Nov. 28. Cattouse wears No. 40.
Gatson
is a 5-11, 165-pound rookie from Arkansas, who saw action in two games
early this season. He has spent the other 13 weeks on the practice
squad. Gatson wears. No. 31.
The Chargers also signed two players to the practice squad. Cornerback Arthur Hobbs,
a rookie from Spring Valley, Calif., who went to school at
Nebraska-Kearny. Hobbs went to training camp with the Bolts in 2012. And
the team added tight end Anthony Miller, a rookie from Cal-Berkeley who went to training camp with the Denver Broncos in 2012.
