Chargers land Cox, agree on four-year contract

The San Diego Chargers agreed to terms on a four-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ leading pass interceptor over the past four seasons, cornerback Derek Cox
Cox, 26, has 12 interceptions and 32 passes defensed in four seasons in Jacksonville, including four picks last year in 12 games. His 12 interceptions over that period are more than double the next closest Jacksonville defender.
He picked off four passes to lead the team in three of his first four NFL campaigns.  Cox started 44 of 47 games played for the Jags.
Cox, 6-1, 195, out of William & Mary was chosen by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Al RIGHTY 3 is done and i will say I am starting to LOVE the new additions!!! Solid solid freaking CB finally....lots of good O Line BEEF...a RB and TE and some re-signings. I am still waiting for more BEEF on the O-line (can't have enough) but with the draft soon, we are looking much better. I can't wait to see what they have instore for the next few days??!! I have been quiet like a Lion in the grass, but now it is time to speak up...the new Leadership is really getting me a Warm and Fuzzy,,,,bring on that draft baby...oh and who knows who is still out there in FA with a Bolts jersey waiting to be put on!!

I think we have seen all we are going to see for a minute. There just isn't enough money laying around. They have done what they can, but it will probably be a few more weeks before we see anything substantial happen in FA, I think. After the market dries up, TT will pick up more depth on the cheap.. More youth movement players, most likely. There is still more time to see if other teams don't cut a player, or two, loose that we could use.

This signing makes me even more happy than the Woodhead signing! Please stay healthy, Cox!!!! TT has FINALLY done what I have been hoping for since 2011, and let Cason walk! Great move!!! If Cox can stay healthy, and be that physical playmaking CB we have been lacking for years... This defense will be even better than last year! This could potentially be the most important signing of this year... Maybe even more important than the draft!
